San Francisco-based developer Stanford Hotels submitted for a 500-foot-tall building in what is currently a parking lot on Stewart Street, across from the Westin on Fifth Avenue. That's according to Puget Sound Business Journal. The developer bought the property a year ago for $16.75 million. The building, called “Altitude Sky Tower,” would be at least 50 stories, with apartments and condos stacked atop a hotel atop retail space. Oh, there's also a restaurant sandwiched in there between the 250-plus hotel rooms and 200-plus residences. Bellevue based MulvanneyG2 Architecture is designing the building. If Seattle accepts the plan, this would be Stanford’s second project in town. Its first is a 15-story hotel set to go up on Terry Avenue, next to Amazon's offices. Stanford Hotels’ properties operate under the Hilton, Sheraton and Marriott brands. — T.W.
