            <p>By next year, the cost of big construction projects in the Seattle region will increase by as much as 6 percent, the <a href="http://www.bizjournals.com/seattle/blog/2015/08/construction-costs-in-seattle-forecast-to-climb.html?ref=dev.cascadepbs.org">Puget Sound Business Journal reports</a>. A quarterly <a href="http://www.mortenson.com/~/media/files/pdfs/mortenson%20cost%20index%20report%20-%20seattle%20-%20q2%202015.ashx?ref=dev.cascadepbs.org">index </a>by general contractor Mortenson also says that the construction costs are expected to rise faster here than in the five other major markets the company works in — Chicago, Denver, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Phoenix. Tired of seeing all those huge construction cranes? The Journal's Marc Stiles writes, "Don't expect the construction boom to slow until at least into 2016."</p>
