Congratulations to Crosscut writers Knute Berger, John Stang and Judy Lightfoot, who received honors for excellence in journalism at this weekend’s Society of Professional Journalists of Western Washington.Knute won first place in magazine writing for his article, “Seattle dog days: loving our pets to death,” which originally appeared in Seattle Magazine. Judy took second place in online news for her lifestyle piece entitled, “Can you be a human being after prison?” John received a third place business reporting award for his article entitled, “Gregoire's case for medical pot cuts into feds' tangled legal web.”
