Just days after President Obama met with Cuba's President Raul Castro, the White House has announced that Cuba will be taken off the list of state sponsors of terrorism, NPR reports. "The government of Cuba has not provided any support for international terrorism during the preceding 6-month period," White House press secretary Josh Earnest said, adding that Cuba "has provided assurances that it will not support acts of international terrorism in the future." This will be the first time since 1982 that Cuba has not been on the list and is a major step forward in normalizing relations between the two countries.
