As his legendary career winds to a close next week, late-night host David Letterman is taking a victory tour of sorts, both on his program and in the media. He’s on the cover of the current Rolling Stone magazine, which features an interesting and surprisingly non-jokey interview. He talks about his extramarital affairs (“It was easily the lowest point of my life”), his history as a hypochondriac and alcoholic, and some of the things he’d like to do in retirement. His last show is Wednesday, May 20.

In a cool sidebar, Rolling Stone ranks Dave’s top 10 musical guests, with videos of their performances. Among the highlights, Sonny & Cher (no longer a couple at that point) sang a heart-tugging version of “I Got You Babe,” Bob Dylan plays “Jokerman,” Bruce Springsteen does “Glory Days, and in what Letterman calls “my favorite band playing my favorite song,” Foo Fighters breaks out a rocking version of “Everlong.”

Here's Dylan's performance.
