The State Board of Education will decide today on what earns students a passing score on Washington's new Common Core tests. The test were introduced into high schools this past spring. The math and English language arts exams are given to 11th graders. High school students must pass the exams to recieve a diploma.

A lot of students skipped the tests last year, however, meaning that state officials will have to use alternative methods for figuring out what determines student proficiency.
