The Puget Sound Business Journal reports that a Denver-based company, DaVita Healthcare Providers Inc., has acquired the Everett Clinic in a $385 million deal.
The merger, which was first announced in September, is intended to help the Everett Clinic expand more quickly than it would otherwise, the Everett Clinic’s chief legal officer Chris Knapp told the Puget Sound Business Journal.
With 500 health care providers, the Everett clinic currently serves 315,000 patients at 20 locations in Snohomish County. The merger is expected to double the number of providers to 1,000, and increase the patients served to perhaps 1 million. It will also expand into King County, with plans to open clinics in Shoreline and the Eastside.
