
Facebook is partnering with nine major media organizations to debut a speedy, mobile-optimized and interactive service that delivers news content directly from partners that include The New York Times, National Geographic, BuzzFeed, NBC News, The Atlantic and The Guardian. "Today we’re excited to introduce Instant Articles, a new product for publishers to create fast, interactive articles on Facebook," wrote Product Manager Michael Reckhow on Facebook.
"And why would publishers be willing to publish directly to Facebook’s iOS app, and not to their own sites?" asks GeekWire. Because the program's perks — partners can port their own ads to the new platform and keep all revenue — are so darn good.
