            <p>According to data from the U.S Census Bureau, people just aren't all that into homeownership anymore. The agency reports that the percentage of homeowners in the U.S has dropped to 63.4 for the second quarter of 2015, down from 64.7 last year at the same time last year. That's the lowest it's been since 1967. <a href="http://www.seattle.gov/DPD/cityplanning/populationdemographics/aboutseattle/housing/default.htm?ref=dev.cascadepbs.org">Statistics</a> for Seattle (the city) show that we're even lower than the average — in 2010, the most recent year for available stats, we had a homeonership rate of 48.1 percent.</p><p>NBC News <a href="http://www.cnbc.com/2015/07/28/home-prices-rose-49-in-may-vs-57-increase-expected-spcase-shiller.html?ref=dev.cascadepbs.org">reports</a> that national homeownership rates peaked at the end of 2004 with a 69.2 average rate.</p>
