A new revenue forecast shows the economy growing so fast that it will trigger a “kicker” rebate of $473 million to those who pay state income tax. The Oregonian says the rebate is expected to mean a reduction of more than 6 percent, or $284 for the average taxpayer. In addition to the rebate, the paper reports, the extra revenue will allow lawmakers to spend more money on schools.
