
The first person eyeing Rep. Susan Fagan's recently vacated seat in the State Legislature tossed his hat in the ring today — the very day Fagan's resignation became effective. (The Pullman Republican stepped down earlier this week amidst of ethics allegations.) County commissioners from her Ninth District will choose a replacement. By law, it has to be a Republican. Lucky for former Franklin County Sheriff Richard Lathim, who has put himself in contention. Lathim had been the Franklin County sheriff for 28 years before losing last November to long time Pasco police Sgt. Jim Raymond.
