The Oregon Firearms Safety Act was passed by the Oregon State House of Representatives on Monday after having already been passed in the state Senate. The bill, reports Reuters, would expand background check requirements to include both person-to-person and online sales, rather than just at stores and gun shows. "Background checks are the most systematic way to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people," said Rep. Dan Rayfield. The governor of Oregon, Kate Brown, has previously told The Oregonian that she would sign the bill into law if it passed.
