Republishing of the photos or videos embedded in an article can occur only if the photo or video is a copyright of Cascade Public Media ("CPM") and not of a third party. Photos and videos that are a copyright of CPM are not required to appear in the republished article, but if they are used, they must be embedded where they appear in the original article and must include the attribution to the CPM photographer.
How does WSDOT prioritize the information we see on highway reader boards? My Northwest reports the hierarchy goes something like this:
1) A recent accident obstructing traffic
2) Major upcoming construction, like on I-90 recently
3) General traffic congestion
The article quotes some people unhappy that general congestion is last priority (unless due to a major accident), but WSDOT says minor traffic ebbs and flows can be easily checked online by individuals before leaving home.
