He still hasn't officially announced any presidential intentions, but according to the Washington Post, Jeb Bush told top donors to his super PAC on Sunday that "the organization has raised more money in its first 100 days than any other Republican operation in modern history." If he's right — word is Jeb's Right to Rise super PAC will haul in $100 million by the end of May — he could shatter the record for best presidential fundraising by a rookie. The holder of that record? Jeb's bro, former president George W. Bush who, according to the Post, amassed nearly $37 million in the first four months of 1999. Imagine what will happen when/if Jeb actually declares . . .
Speaking of money and the White House, on Sunday the Clinton Foundation copped to some, um, financial "mistakes" and promised more transparency. The unusual mea culpa comes in the wake of revelations (from mainstream media and the upcoming book Clinton Cash) that could threaten Hillary's presidential chances. (The Clinton campaign is expected to raise some $3 billion before the 2016 election is over.)
