Of the 24 homicides investigated last year, 14 are still open cases, meaning no one has been arrested in connection with the murders, according to data the Seattle Times compiled.  One is the high-profile case of Donnie Chin, an International District community leader shot near a hookah bar. Seattle police investigated 24 homicides last year, right in the range of experience over the past years. Figures from the first of the year are running ahead of a year ago.
