            <p>The Mariners' designated hitter Nelson Cruz leads in the first batch of voting results for the American League All-Star team. He's just one of three players leading in the voting for their positions who play for somebody other than the Kansas City Royals, whose fans are apparently engaged in massive ballot box stuffing a demonstration of <a href="http://www.kansascity.com/sports/mlb/kansas-city-royals/article22356330.html?ref=dev.cascadepbs.org">"their passion" </a>for their team. As with the other two non-Royals in first place, Cruz is trailed by a Royal, in his case Kendrys Morales, whose .<a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/moralke01.shtml?ref=dev.cascadepbs.org">207 batting average</a> for the Mariners last year did little to help their unsuccessful bid for a playoff appearance.</p>
