Kshama Sawant wants colleagues to take a public stand on Gaza.

A new bill proposed by Mayor Ed Murray and Seattle City Council member Tom Rasmussen would prevent council members from conducting any kind of campaign activity while participating in city-sponsored events. "The officials didn’t name Councilmember Kshama Sawant in a news release about their bill," wrote The Seattle Times, "but the proposal was clearly aimed at her." Likely a response to last month's ethical no-no when supporters solicited signatures and volunteers for candidate Sawant's re-election campaign right downstairs from the City Hall meeting that City Council member Sawant was co-hosting.
