Barack Obama can'êt assume the presidency on January 20 unless something happens throughout the country today — and the media is reacting with a giant collective yawn.</p><p>It's the Monday after the second Wednesday of December. And that means — ta-da — the quadrennial meeting of the Electoral College will be called to order in every state capitol at noon today. The <a href="http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/6420ap_wa_electoral_vote.html/?ref=dev.cascadepbs.org">Associated Press</a> notes this Constitutionally-mandated event taking place in Olympia with a riveting story totaling 73 words.</p><p>It'ês not just the mainstream media. Even minutiae-obsessed political reporters are giving the EC a pass.
