The year started well for Republicans in Massachusetts, and things are looking good for them in Washington state so far.
Seattle is not gridlocked, tunnel doubts are legit, and the mayor is no "birther." If fears are truly groundless, as the city council would like to think, why not test the tunnel at the polls?
The mayor is engaged in spreading F.U.D.: fear, uncertainty, and doubt. It's time to recognize what he's doing and get down to the business of connecting the city and its waterfront.
The council said it plans to hold off on final action endorsing agreements with the state on construction terms but that it will pass a resolution underlining its support. In late afternoon, McGinn responded by saying the council is trying to block a vote by citizens.
