The second recreational pot store in Seattle’s city limits opened its doors today, but this time it wasn’t entirely the product fueling the concerns behind the opening of Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop. Ike’s sits in the heart of the Central District at the intersection of 23rd and Union, which Seattle Weekly noted is a corner with more than its share of business closures, drug deals and even shootings. Q13 Fox reports shop owner Ian Eisenberg, who has hired ex-military as security, is confident. “We’re just focusing on opening up this one shop, doing the best job we possibly can,” he said. “No problems, no security issues, running a tight ship and doing it correctly.” — T.W.
