            <p>Following the release on Sunday of a <em>Rolling Stone</em>-commissioned report from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, <em>Rolling Stone</em> retracted its article about a brutal gang rape at a University of Virginia frat party. <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/06/business/media/rolling-stone-retracts-article-on-rape-at-university-of-virginia.html?hp=&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&module=second-column-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news&_r=0&ref=dev.cascadepbs.org">According to The New York Times,</a> the Columbia J School investigators said the magazine had failed to engage in “basic, even routine journalistic practice.”</p><p>Also on Sunday, the story's author, veteran journalist Sabrina Rubin Erdely, issued a public apology, saying: "I hope that my mistakes in reporting this story do not silence the voices of victims that need to be heard.”</p>
