The 2015 NFL draft is over, and while Seahawks coach Pete Carroll stuck to his MO of retaining some undervalued, if promising, talent, the choice to draft defensive end Frank Clark is raising some eyebrows. Clark previously played for the University of Michigan, but was dismissed from the team after being arrested under domestic violence charges. Sportspress Northwest's Art Thiel detailed Carroll's rationale for the decision, saying the Seahawks coach described an intense investigation of his background and came to the conclusion that he did not hit his former girlfriend. Carroll feels the defensive end will fit in well with the Seahawks dynamic on the field, but some media outlets are already criticizing the second-round draft pick, which comes on the heels of a less-than-stellar year for the NFL and domestic abuse scandals.
Other notable picks include Ryan Murphy, a safety from Oregon state, and cousin of Marshawn Lynch, as well as snapper Nate Boyer, an ex-Green Beret who was signed as a free agent.
