            <p>Seattle’s First African Methodist Episcopal Church held a prayer vigil on Thursday night to honor the Charleston shooting victims. First AME is the oldest and among the largest black churches in Seattle and some of its members knew some of the victims. Speakers, reports <a href="http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/public-prayer-vigil-tonight-at-seattle-church/?ref=dev.cascadepbs.org"><em>The Seattle Times</em></a>, called for the local  community to address racism. Vigil attendee Julie Burrell said that First AME held its own service on Wednesday, the night of the Charleston shooting. “That could have been us,” she said.</p>
