According to Seattlepi.com, Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash, will introduce legislation Friday to increase the federal minimum wage to $12 an hour with support from Democratic Senate leader Harry Reid, and House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi. The legislation is a marked increase from the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour and up from Obama's call for $10.10 an hour.
House Speaker John Boehner has previously refused to allow a house vote on the minimum wage, but Murray quips, "Boehner has never stopped me before."
