Kirby Wilbur, chair of the Washington State Republican Party, resigned late Monday. In an email to supporters, Wilbur said he had taken a job with the Young America’s Foundation in D.C. (for more than double his current salary.) “I would be foolish if I did not accept this offer,” wrote Wilbur. “It has been an honor to serve as your chairman since January 2011. We have had many successes and I have had some failures. The Party has a good crop of upcoming leaders and a strong staff and it will continue to move forward no matter whose hand is on the helm.” Wilbur and wife plan to move sometime in the next 60 days, but not before they hold “the state’s largest garage sale this Friday and Saturday, lots of political stuff and books at dirt-cheap prices.“ We’re there!
