The average TV commercial can costs anywhere from $3000 to $25,000, according to Skyworks Marketing. But the cost of running an ad during Super Bowl 50, the golden anniversary of the biggest annual football game? CBS, the network the is hosting the Super Bowl this year, just sold a 30-second ad for $5 million - that's an 11 percent increase over the 4.5 million base price that NBC charged for Super Bowl XLIX last year.

Last year's Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks was the most watched television broadcast in U.S. history, according to Nielsen. Super Bowl 50 is scheduled for Feb. 7, 2016. It'll be at Levi's Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers.
