Transportation and wood smoke pollution pose biggest risk to respiratory health

Transportation and wood smoke are the sources of airborne toxics most likely to lead to respiratory health problems in Island, Skagit and Whatcom counties, according to the Northwest Clean Air Agency. The agency also noted that these risks would be greatest in large urban areas. The NWCAA came to this conclusion after reviewing the EPA’s National Air Toxic’s Assessment, released last week. The findings are consistent with previous reports.
