'Alert Seattle': Want to hear more from the city?

With its new system for sending residents digital alerts about emergencies almost a week old, the city seems to be stepping up efforts to enroll residents. The city describes its system as providing the public "information on what to do when emergencies like earthquakes, explosions, flooding or other disasters happen." You can find a sign-up link or more information here. The city also says it might (no promises, you know) send information about "major traffic incidents." Like when a fish truck spills?
