Updated at 3:55 p.m. Seattle Public Schools officials called off classes again for Tuesday but Seattle teachers and the school district resumed negotiations during the day, the Seattle Times reports. The city of Seattle is kicking off drop-in activities programs at community centers to serve up to 3,000 kids.

Not on strike: the city's new preschool program. Mayor Ed Murray and City Council President Tim Burgess will visit teachers and children on the program's first day of classes Monday.
