Today, The Washington Post named Portland as the best food city in America. The Oregonian talked to the Post's restaurant critic, Tom Sietsema, who discussed not only the quality of Portland's restaurants, but also its grocers, ice cream makers, food trucks and creativity.
Sietsema said he is getting a lot of heat (he didn't call it whining) from one city: Seattle. It didn't make his Top 10, but if he had named a Top 12, Seattle might have made it. He figures it might be 11th best. Or 12th. What, it's not creative enough to have a handful of the same famous chefs opening endless new versions of restaurants on every corner in the city?
