Court slams Legislature on schools

The state Supreme Court today imposed fines of $100,000 per day over the Legislature and Gov. Jay Inslee's failure to come up with a plan for adequately funding public schools. Inslee issued a statement saying he will talk with legislative leaders and others to determine how to move forward. He framed the Court opinion as requiring a detailed plan that is "more complex and expensive than the significant steps we’ve already taken."
