This year has broken temperature records so many days and months in a row, it's hardly a surprise to learn that the hot, dry weather will is projected through at least next autumn. Scott Sistek of the KOMO News weather blog attempts to answer everyone's burning question: "Why, WHY, WHY!?!?! is this all happening?" by breaking down NOAA's forecast maps with color-coded regions through October 2016. They're orange for hotter than average, blue for colder than average. Brown for dry, green for wet. And the Pacific Northwest is consistently orange and brown, while the south is more blue and green than one might expect.
