The labor union Service Employees International Healthcare 775NW will pay over $39,000 after a lawsuit over violations of the state’s campaign finance disclosure laws, according to a press release from the office of state Attorney General Bob Ferguson.
The attorney general's office filed a complaint in September claiming SEIU 775, which represents health care workers in Washington and Montana, failed to report in-kind contributions and cash contributions totaling $1.39 million made to the SEIU 775 PAC from 2010-2015. This judgment brings the case to a close. The AG's investigation began after it received a complain from the Freedom Foundation, which says it works to "reverse the stranglehold public-sector unions have on our government." Some of SEIU's workers are covered by a contract with the state of Washington.
