            <p><em>Seattle Times</em> columnist Danny Westneat uses his own overpriced cab ride home from the airport to explore the city’s <a href="http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/ubers-ride-getting-a-bit-bumpier/?ref=dev.cascadepbs.org">increasingly strained relationship</a> with the ride-sharing service Uber. The service undercuts cab rates by quite a bit – hurting that business – but doesn’t pay its own drivers anything near minimum wage. Says one Uber driver: “Uber’s squeezing the cab companies, so we’re taking away their business. But Uber’s also squeezing its drivers. Uber makes money. Nobody else is.”</p>
