The University of Washington's Medical School ranks No. 1 for educating students in primary care, family medicine and rural medicine, according to the U.S. News & World Report's latest rankings of graduate schools. UW has ranked first in primary care education for 22 of the past 23 years, the Seattle Times notes.
About UW being No. 1 for rural medicine: Washington State University says a key part of its new medical school's mission will be to "help alleviate a shortage of doctors, especially in rural and undeserved areas." At the very least, WSU will have a nearby model on how to do things right.
