As the regular counting from the Nov. 3 election ended just before Thanksgiving, Tacoma's Proposition 3 for street improvements and repairs survived, by a mere 22 votes of more than 35,000 cast. It joined two other transportation measures, in Seattle and Enumclaw, in winning voter approval, according to the Puget Sound Regional Council.

Five recounts are taking place around Puget Sound with two in Pierce County (an Orting City Council post and a University Place School Board seat) and one each in Thurston County (a Port of Olympia commission spot), Snohomish (a Lynnwood City Council position) and King (the Seattle City Council seat for West Seattle).
