Update 4:57 p.m. In a letter sent to Center School families today about Monday's incident where a student brought a Molotov cocktail to the campus, Seattle Public Schools interim Superintendent Larry Nyland said that Principal Oksana Britsova has been placed on administrative leave. In the meantime, BiHoa Caldwell, a veteran administrator, will take her place. Stacy Howard, Seattle Public Schools Media Relations Specialist, said this isn’t a routine move. Howard said she could not comment further on personnel issues, but did note things could go back to normal after the investigation.According to the letter to families, the administrative-leave decision was made by the district pending "a review to ensure all protocols were followed." The letter also says the school "effectively implemented" its emergency plan. — T.W.
