The initiative would strengthen penalties for trafficking products made from 10 endangered "iconic species" including sea turtles, tigers, and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangolin?ref=dev.cascadepbs.org">pangolins</a>. Paul Allen, Vulcan, Woodland Park Zoo and quite a crowd of Washingtonians are behind the stricter regulations. Assuming all goes well with the verification of signatures, I-1401 will be on the ballot in November.</p>
