            <p>Ford says today that it will open the files on all of its patents and patent applications that are related to electric vehicles. <a href="http://electrek.co/2015/05/28/ford-follow-teslas-lead-and-open-all-their-electric-vehicles-patents/?ref=dev.cascadepbs.org">Electrek</a> reports this will allow anyone interested, including their competitors, to view the patents. "Innovation is our goal. ... By sharing our research with other companies, we will accelerate the growth of electrified vehicle technology and deliver even better products to customers," said Kevin Layden, director of Ford's Electrification Programs. Those wishing to use the patents will still have to pay a fee.</p>
