Dr. Gary Gilliland, president of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, tells Life Science Innovation Northwest he is excited about new possibilities in immuno-oncology. According to GeekWire, Gilliland proclaimed, "I have never seen anything like this in my life," as he went on to describe what he says could be a cure for most cancers 10 years from now. Juno Therapeutics, a research partner of Fred Hutch, is working on technologies that re-engineer a patient's own T cells to be able to recognize and kill cancer cells.
