            <p>Governor Inslee has signed House Bill 1879, sponsored by Rep. Ruth Kagi,  into law. The bill, according to the <a href="http://housedemocrats.wa.gov/ruth-kagi/governor-signs-kagis-bill-to-improve-mental-health-treatment-for-youth-in-foster-care/?ref=dev.cascadepbs.org">press release</a>, will provide youth in foster care with better access to mental health by combining behavioral and physical health care into a single plan. HB 1879 also places more safeguards on the prescribing of antipsychotics to young people, requiring a second psychiatrist's opinion before a prescription can be made.</p>
