:Joan Rivers died on Thursday, after going into cardiac arrest following a minor throat procedure on August 28. According to the New York Times, the State Health Department is investigating the “circumstances that led to her death.” The Daily Beast’s Tim Teeman interviewed Rivers in 2010 and asked her about death. “I don’t fear it," she said. "With plastic surgery the general anesthetic is like black-velvety sleep, and that’s what death is – without waking up to someone clapping and going, ‘Joan, wake up, it’s all over and you’re looking pretty.’”Rivers was a comic pioneer.
