More than 500 police cars and motorcycles took part in the funeral procession for Washington State Trooper Sean O'Connell this afternoon. O'Connell died in an accident while directing detour traffic for the I-5 Skagit River Bridge collapse on his motorcycle. One of the first speakers at his Everett Comcast Arena memorial service was Patrol Chief John Batiste, who spoke directly to the Marysville resident's parents. "Thank you for having such a wonderful son. I can't thank you enough." Among other outlets, The Herald has extensive coverage, including a live blog.
