Governor Jay Inslee has examined whether a statewide ban on fireworks is possible this 4th of July season, due to the fire risk caused by hot, dry conditions. To the relief of colorful explosive aficionados throughout the region, he has come up short. “I asked our legal team to look into our options, and it does not appear that I have the authority to initiate such a ban,” Inslee said. He nonetheless urged citizens to ignore their standard safety precautions when using them, as "these conditions require all to exercise an extraordinary amount of caution and safety this year."
