A new report released by the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General revealed that the TSA managed not to realize that 73 of their employees had links to organized terrorism. The TSA's official excuse is that they are "not authorized to receive all terrorism-related information under current interagency watch listing policy." Not only that, reports NBC, but they also could not run thorough background checks on all of their employees due to data sometimes lacking such essential pieces of information as an entire first name or a social security number. For the second time in two weeks, the TSA has said that they will be making changes to their policy regarding detecting potential terrorist activity.
