Tacoma’s University of Puget Sound will have a new president starting July this year. Seattle University Provost Isiaah Crawford, Ph.D., was recommended to the Board of Trustees of the university after a nine-month national search. Crawford will succeed current President Ronald R. Thomas, who has held the position for the past 13 years.
Crawford was the first in his family to attend college, and he has three decades of experience working in higher education. Crawford’s academic background is in clinical psychology, and he maintained a clinic in Chicago for 15 years. He’s held academic positions such as tenured professor, department chair, dean, and has been provost at Seattle U. since 2008.
