To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, events were planned in 30 cities around the globe last year by documentary filmmaker Richard Karz. In Seattle, Karz filmed the Seattle Symphony and a large group of young dancers at Westlake Center over two days last November. Local choreographer, Olivier Weaver of Whim W’him, created choreography for dance groups from throughout the city, who performed a day-long tribute to MLK. The video below captures some of the event's highlights, and serves as unique tribute to King's messages of collaboration, inclusiveness, and harmony.
