For the second time this year, thieves have stolen expensive equipment from a youth baseball league in Renton, the Cascade Vista Athletic Club. The league, according to a King5.com report, "is not a fancy league, just a community organization that brings the game to a lot of kids who might not otherwise have the opportunity. Some players come from low-income families".Over the weekend, thieves made off with about $5,000 in equipment, including a generator, two pitching machines and some lawn maintenance gear. The last time ol' stickyfingers (who may or may not be the same thief) hit the league in October, he or she made off with two lawnmowers. Renton police are still investigating. And those young baseball players are looking for new pitching machines. — B.A.
